Hot bath facility in Awaji by OHArchitecture

Hot bath facility in Awaji is a architecture project located in Awaji , Japan, designed by OHArchitecture.

OHArchitecture believe that it is desirable to have an open space with no walls and only a roof, like a rest hut or pergola in a park.

OHArchitecture aimed for a building that By arranging the courts and clusters, they will create a group of buildings that integrate the sea, the courts and the space. Each building is divided into 6-meter spans, and the roofs with different heights are layered to create a shape that draws in nature from the gaps.

Structurally, the bottom of the foundation is at the height of the supporting ground, and the underfloor is used as an equipment pit.

The roof is made lighter and thinner by housing many of the plumbing and equipment necessary for a hot bath facility.

By doing so, the pillars are also thin, realizing an open space that does not interfere with the scenery.

In addition, by using Awaji-produced tiles and tiles for the interior and exterior, as well as for the furniture, we created a space where the interior and exterior continue as one with the appearance of Awaji Island.
